Processed foods are foods packaged and sold in boxes and bags. All foods are processed to an extent when you define “processed.” Could mean the apple was picked and placed in a bag and shipped to the local grocery store. Technically it has been processed. However, we are specifically referring to foods such as cookies, chips, bread, and any other food that can last in a shelf for more than a week.
